Project overview
Swains Farm Shop, located in the picturesque village of Henfield, embarked on an ambitious expansion project. The goal was to transform their existing farm shop into a local hub for their fresh, quality produce, including a new butchery concession and delicatessen. In addition, preparations were made for the upcoming launch of the much-anticipated Swains Café in early 2024.

Services provided
We started with the development of a detailed business plan, followed by efficient project management. Our team handled planning applications, licensing and concessions, ensuring all legal and regulatory aspects were seamlessly managed.
We designed both external and internal building layout plans and provided a SketchUp design for visual representation. The interiors & light equipment were carefully chosen and shop-fit, fixtures & fittings were installed to create a welcoming and efficient retail environment.
Food retail space planning was meticulously carried out to optimise product placement and customer flow. Our team also oversaw product procurement & ranging and provided retail training to ensure a high level of customer service. We implemented EPOS systems for efficient retail operations and designed display plans for effective product showcasing. Visual merchandising & training were also provided to maintain the shop’s aesthetic standards.
Our creative team worked on re-designing the existing brand identity of Swains making it more reflective of what they are renowned for – their fresh fruits and vegetables. This entailed the creation of customised Point of Sale (POS), distinctive signage and the design of an interactive and engaging website.

The outcome
The expansion of Swains Farm Shop has transformed it into a go-to destination for fresh, quality produce in Henfield. The addition of a butchery concession and delicatessen has significantly enhanced the shopping experience, setting the shop apart from its competitors.
The groundwork laid for the upcoming Swains Café has set the stage for a successful launch in 2024. With the well-developed menu and the comprehensive training provided to the staff, the café promises to be a valuable addition to the farm shop.
