Project overview
The project involved transforming the Blackbrooks Garden Centre by introducing a new food hall. The goal was to enhance the customer experience and diversify the garden centre’s offerings, providing customers with a variety of high-quality food options in a welcoming environment.

Services provided
We started the project with a detailed business plan, followed by detailed project management through each phase. Our involvement spanned various crucial areas such as senior staff recruitment, licensing applications, internal building layout plans, procuring interiors and light equipment, creating customised shop fit, food retail space planning and product procurement.

We assisted the estate in creating distinctive product ranges which included farm-fresh eggs boxes and an assortment of oils. This entailed designing packaging that resonated with their brand ethos. Collaborating with the head chef, we crafted an enticing menu that spotlighted ingredients sourced directly from the farm or available in the farm shop. Emphasising Welsh provenance formed the core of their unique offering, celebrating local artisans. To ensure smooth operations, we installed EPOS systems, devised merchandising display plans, executed visual merchandising for the opening day and conducted retail training for sustained excellence.

Our creative process was evident in every aspect of the branding and design work. From the logo to menus, uniforms, promotional materials and the website, each element was meticulously crafted to reflect the brand’s identity. We extended our services to other Penllyn Estate diversification businesses, for example, designing websites for ventures like Cowbridge Cabins. Throughout the project we worked in unison with the Homfray family, ensuring their vision materialised to the highest possible standard.

We not only created the shop and restaurant but also managed all procurement and staffing requirements.
